Vessels.
I make sculptural, non-functional vessels, groups and pairs in earthenware and terra sigillata. First used in Roman Samian ware prior to the invention of glaze, terra sigillata is a refined clay slip with a silky sheen or dry matte surface which reveals every subtle textural detail of the making process. These works are non-functional, non-watertight sculptural pieces.
